Product Details
Our rustic parquet oak flooring, known for its durability and classic look, is one of the most popular floor types available. Our unfinished solid rustic oak parquet blocks combine the authentic beauty of timeless character with the tradition of real parquet flooring. Supplied completely unfinished, this flooring can be customised to your own personal tastes and desires, offering a completely unique floor for your home.
Each solid oak 60mm wide wood block should be glued individually to the sub-floor. This can be done in any style: herringbone, plank, basket weave, and larger mosaic patterns can be created straight from the box, with the herringbone pattern being the most common. Custom geometric designs and specific motifs can also be created with this fantastic flooring. The same flooring can also be used to form a border. True parquetry at its best!
We have selected a rustic character grade oak for this floor to ensure an outstanding, warm finish. This rustic flooring contains more character than regular flooring and often looks more like a timeless, old-style floor (without the added expense). Expect to see colour variation, knots, and more. Along with allowing extra for cutting waste, we also recommend purchasing an additional 5% in case any boards are too rustic for your installation. Normal wastage for herringbone floors is around 15–20%. Rustic floors will vary in natural features.
NB – As this is an unfinished floor, it requires sanding and sealing with stain, wood flooring oil, or lacquer.

Maintenance
A solid wood floor is a fantastic and practical floor covering popular since the 1600's. They are naturally hard wearing and often many old buildings still have their original wood flooring. Of course, they will be full of signs of use over many years, but many consider this to be a floor that is then rich character and history. Today, many new floors are already distressed to offer an instant lived in appearance!
