Laminate Flooring

Laminate Flooring

A laminate floor is one of the most popular floor coverings across the UK and Ireland. It is constructed using HDF sheets (high density fibreboard), which are bonded with a decorative paper on the surface and then laminated to offer high durability. Each sheet is cut down to size and a DIY friendly click system is profiled onto each side.

Various grades of laminate flooring will often have many added features such as realistic surfaces, water resistance , textured finishes,  increased durability and much more.

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered wood flooring is the most popular type for real wood floor due to being more versatile and more stable than solid wood flooring. It is made using real wood on the surface and the base layer is made from various other materials. Commonly multi-ply layers of white wood such as spruce are used, but the base can also be made from many other materials. The base layers increase stability of the floor, reducing the natural movement in real wood caused by heat and moisture changes.

The top decorative layer of real wood can come in various wood types, styles, thicknesses, grades and more. It can then be finished with a limitless range of stains, lacquers, oils, waxes and even laminations.
